Dr Tim

Dr. Tim Chrapkiewicz

Dr. Tim attended the University of Illinois Dental School and graduated in 1982.  He began practicing in Harvard in November of that year and is completing his 28th year providing general dentistry for this small community.

Dr. Tim became interested in sleep disordered breathing in 2003 after attending a continuing education seminar presented by the Sleep Disorder Services and Research Center at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.  Diagnosed with sleep apnea himself, he began pursuing the study of treatment in this rapidly developing field.  In 2005, the Academy of Sleep Medicine approved oral appliance use for the treatment of mild to moderate sleep apnea and for patients with severe sleep apnea who cannot utilize continuous positive air pressure (CPAP).  Since then, Dr. Tim has experimented with several appliance designs in an effort to supply patients with an oral appliance he believes will most likely deal with their sleep apnea needs as well as maintain healthy muscles, joints and teeth.

Dr. Tim is a member of the national, state and local dental societies.  He is also a member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Equilibration Society.  He is also a proud member of Excellence, the Study Club, a select group of local area dentists dedicated to the art of interdisciplinary dentistry.

Dr. Tim is an avid reader whose eclectic tastes lead him from the Classics and Early American History to Neuroscience and the Evolutionary Psychology of Religion.  He also enjoys finance, wine, and the outdoors.

Dr. Tim lives in a timber-frame home nestled amongst ten acres of woods surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the farming countryside with his wife, Deb, his trusted canine Randi and Lou the cat.
